A successful marriage depends on a variety of different things like effort, commitment, hard work, trust, love and of course the 5 P’s.
Purity – Heb 13 4 – Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Pleasure – Song of Solomon 4:10 – How delightful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume than any spice!
Procreation – Ps 127 3-5 – Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Protection – Eph 5 25 – Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Proclamation – Genesis 1 27-28 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Unfortunately there is a sixth P which is capable of destroying a marriage, if you let it – that P stands for Pornography!
