F B Meyer

J.H. Jowett recounts the following story: “Dr. Meyer has told us that his early Christian life was marred and his ministry paralyzed just because he had kept back one thing from the bunch of keys he had given to the Lord. Every key save one! The key of one room was kept for personal use, and the Lord shut out. The effect of the incomplete consecration was found in lack of power, lack of assurance, lack of joy and peace. The joy of the Lord begins when we hand over the last key. We sit with Christ on His throne as soon as we have surrendered our crowns, and made Him sole and only ruler of our life and its possessions.”

F. B. Meyer experienced the lordship of Jesus Christ when he handed over the last key.  He had kept back the key to one room in his life and it brought great defeat. Remember, if He is not Lord of all (of every room), then He is not Lord at all.

Does He have the key to that room in your life?

Is there a room marked “private – keep out Lord?”

If so, you must be willing to surrender that key to the Lord and bring glory to God right now.

Luke 6 46 “So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you do not do what I say.

Lordship Prayer

A LORDSHIP PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge my need of you and accept you now as my Lord, my Saviour, my Redeemer and my Deliverer. I invite you now to be the Lord and authority of the whole of my life.

Be Lord of my human spirit, my worship, conscience and spiritual understanding.

Be Lord of my mind, my thoughts, my attitudes, my beliefs and my imagination.

Be Lord of my will and all my intentions and decisions.

Be Lord of my emotions and the expression of my feelings.

Be Lord of my body, my physical health and strength, my senses and appearance, my actions, exercise, rest and diet.

Be Lord of:

my ears and all that I listen to;
my eyes, all that I look at and every look I give;
my mouth and all that goes in, every word that comes out;
my hands and everything they touch and do;
my feet and every path I tread, every stand I take.

Be Lord of my sexuality and all its expressions.

Be Lord of my relationships, my family, my marriage (or marital status), my friendships and Christian fellowship.

Be Lord of my time, my work, my Christian service, my relaxation, sleep and dreams.

Be Lord of my finances, my material goods and perceived needs.

Be Lord of my plans, ambitions and future.

Be Lord of the timing and nature of my death.

Thank you that you shed your blood for me so that I might be free from the consequences of sin and that my name can be written in your book of life.  Come and exercise your kingdom rule in and through my life in a new way from today. Amen
