Lordship Prayer

A LORDSHIP PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge my need of you and accept you now as my Lord, my Saviour, my Redeemer and my Deliverer. I invite you now to be the Lord and authority of the whole of my life.

Be Lord of my human spirit, my worship, conscience and spiritual understanding.

Be Lord of my mind, my thoughts, my attitudes, my beliefs and my imagination.

Be Lord of my will and all my intentions and decisions.

Be Lord of my emotions and the expression of my feelings.

Be Lord of my body, my physical health and strength, my senses and appearance, my actions, exercise, rest and diet.

Be Lord of:

my ears and all that I listen to;
my eyes, all that I look at and every look I give;
my mouth and all that goes in, every word that comes out;
my hands and everything they touch and do;
my feet and every path I tread, every stand I take.

Be Lord of my sexuality and all its expressions.

Be Lord of my relationships, my family, my marriage (or marital status), my friendships and Christian fellowship.

Be Lord of my time, my work, my Christian service, my relaxation, sleep and dreams.

Be Lord of my finances, my material goods and perceived needs.

Be Lord of my plans, ambitions and future.

Be Lord of the timing and nature of my death.

Thank you that you shed your blood for me so that I might be free from the consequences of sin and that my name can be written in your book of life.  Come and exercise your kingdom rule in and through my life in a new way from today. Amen

What are you bringing to this fight?

By whose Strength?

The chances are that in the past you have tried to break free from the ungodly hold that pornography, masturbation and immorality has over your life and have failed – most likely for all the wrong reasons.

– Who are you really doing this for? –

So what was your main reason for seeking freedom in the first place?  Was it to save your marriage or ministry after being found out?  Was it a pride issue, to feel better about yourself or to look good in the eyes of others? (self-preservation) Did you ever think of doing it to glorify God? Or maybe you have triumphed and found freedom for a season.  However, before you were able to announce your success with great joy to the world, the enemy managed to hijack that victory through temptation, stress, hurt, pain, rejection, loneliness or some other external cause.

Even though we are led into sin and drawn away by our own evil desires James 1:14 self-centredness in the heart 2 Peter 2:14 and an arrogant disregard for God and others, we have also given notice to the enemy that there is a part of us that isn’t under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, an area that He can’t bless because of our rebellious behaviour Jer 5 23.  That opening has allowed unclean fowl evil spirits to attack and oppress us.

We cannot be ignorant of Satan’s device’s 2 Cor 2: 11  this is why we need to look at Ephesians 6 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.  This explains to us that there is also spiritual warfare in progress. When you can’t get rid of those ungodly images that bombard the mind any time they want, you are no longer simply fighting against the flesh, something else has gained entry and it won’t go without a fight!!  Check out; the Quitters check list for help with this.

– Never made for this fight –

Through your habitual use in pornography, you have handed the enemy a legal right to hold you back, so each time you go searching for freedom without Jesus you just get knocked down, and each time you get knocked down a little bit of your spirit becomes more discouraged. So now it’s time to remove those legal rights and hand back over to God what belongs to Him. No matter how good the flesh looks or how loud we roar, it was never intended to fight a spiritual foe. We can’t go fighting against spiritual powers, we simply aren’t equipped for that; this is why we need Jesus to do the fighting for us (Gal 5:1).  There is no technique, no gimmick, no prayer method, no principle, no book, program or ministry no other method of lasting freedom only Jesus.  It was His death and resurrection that defeated Satan. We cannot do this by our own strength, efforts or hard work. Jesus did it all; so what are you waiting on.

– You Need a Spiritual Intervention from God –

Most believer’s I speak too concerning the issue of freedom from pornography seem to be wasting valuable time, hard earned money and resources pursuing freedom with the wrong mind-set. Through no fault of their own they are attempting to fight pornography as the world fights pornography with courses, books, meetings, prayer ministry, internet blockers etc. Striving to the point where they exhaust themselves spiritually, mentally and physically.  So many have missed the goal and been distracted by pursuing freedom without Jesus, and to be honest freedom seems to be the bigger goal than seeking Jesus, to feel good about ourselves, to say “I’m a godly man, I have done this all by myself” which if you think about it, is a form of pride and selfishness, but without Jesus there can never be true lasting freedom. Lasting freedom is a by-product from enjoying a close relationship with our Saviour, His death conquered sin – not your efforts. You are so helpless that you can’t even do this for yourself your wife or children – if that were the case then you wouldn’t need Christ’s death and victory. You would have good enough reason to stop and seek freedom, but the sorry fact of the matter is that you can’t – the bondage is so deeply entrenched to your very core that you will need a spiritual intervention from God to release and birth in you a godly hate towards this sin.

– Has Porn stolen your Zeal? –

The scary fact is, Satan your motivator, has you where he wants you. Your relationship with Christ has stopped, your spiritual maturity has halted, you’re serving and giving your worship to Satan – not God – make no mistake about that. click here to see Who gets the Worship

You are worshipping Satan (pornography) more today than you were this time last week. You will be worshipping Satan (pornography) more next week than you are this week if you don’t make the decision to quit. You are changing little by little and you aren’t even aware that Pornography’s only aim is to corrupt society, break the church and steal the fight out of YOU.  All the devil wants to do is to get the fight out of Christians and kill it. Pornography can finally rival the church for the souls of men.

So, have you lost your fight? Are you passive? How is your devotional time? Does it still excite you to spend time with the Lord? How is your prayer life? Is it filled with power? What is your zeal for Christ like? Is it still burning or merely flicking? Satan hasn’t changed his spots – he wants to kill every believer and he is using pornography to do that for him.

As head of the house how concerned are you about the ruin that you have brought into the family home? Does it even bother you that your family might be experiencing a living hell because you have removed their covering as you sacrifice your soul to the devil for another lust filled hour of pornography/sex worship?

Today is the day to close the door to the enemy and hand back to God His legal rights over your life. If you believe that God cannot set you free because of what you have done in the past, what you are actually saying is this “ there is a power in the universe greater than God, and that power is my sin” Listen, just one drop of the Blood of Jesus is able to cover every sin that you ever committed.

– Men, you are the Church –

Sooner or later you will finally come to the end of yourself because you will give God no choice but to remove (Rm 1 24) His protection and let you have your own way (Num 11:19-20).  Until the pain of pornography finally out-weights the pain of change and you let the Holy Spirit run rampant to do that deep down soul searching inside, being willing to face up to all those issues that are preventing you from being a better husband and a better daddy to your children, a man who has experienced Godly sorrow and not worldly sorrow and knows how to share with others his real testimony, men who aren’t afraid of HELP. Godly men who know how to carry each other’s burdens – that is the man who God is looking for, then and only then will Christ reveal to you His power to cooperate with Him.

Christ will rise up His church to meet this persecution head on. Men you are the Church; you are God’s rescue plan here on earth. Take a look around you the next time you are in church. He doesn’t have any-body else. We have all read the Bible and marvelled at how the first century saints overcame Satan’s oppression and triumphed. They lived in an environment of paganism, idol worship, temple prostitutes, social, political and demonic opposition, and now they are all seated up in glory cheering  and urging us on. They are the cheer leaders behind the last day saints (that’s us).  It’s God’s heart to restore you to be a man of God – to be that daddy, to be a mighty husband who knows how to love one woman.  Not to be idle but to be a worshipper, a praise warrior, a conqueror, an over-comer and a leader – to fulfil the great commission – so what are you waiting for?   click here to go to By Whose Strength ? Prayer

You can’t wait for the right time or the right moment to come along – it simply won’t happen. Today is the day you die to your own efforts and rely on what Jesus has already done. Don’t let the knowledge of your sinfulness keep you from experiencing God’s grace and forgiveness in your life.

By whose strength? prayer

Lord Jesus, I come and acknowledge before You that I am powerless against pornography, masturbation (Name all involvement as appropriate) in my life. I am trapped, weak and discouraged and only by Your grace can I break free. I am no longer the man I once was fear, anger, depression, isolation, guilt, shame and defilement have all claimed their rights and my spirit is dry. Lord forgive my involvement with all pornographic material—seen, heard, spoken and enacted upon physically, and for the ungodly sexual pleasure it has given to me. For the effect it has had on those close to me, and for sinning against my own body also. Lord Jesus wash me again me with Your Precious Blood and I ask You to cleanse me from all those tormenting ungodly images that plague my mind whenever they want.

I declare that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and from this day forward I chose to walk in holiness and purity and to make You Lord of my sexuality and all its expression’s. In the power of Your Holy Spirit, I choose to live in obedience to Your Holy Word in this and every area of my life. It is my desire to walk with integrity in all my relationships with men and women; Lord Jesus restore again the joy of your salvation with in me, uphold me by your generous Spirit and with your help I will keep my heart clean, forgive me for my pride and selfishness that has kept you out of this process.

Thank You Lord Jesus. Amen

Allow God to heal your broken heart and bind up your wounds

BEAUTY FOR ASHES- HELP FOR A HURTING WIFE

DAY 8 – Allow God to Heal Your Broken Heart and Bind Up Your Wounds

Psalm 147:3 – He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds

Isaiah 61:1-  He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted

There is healing for the broken hearted. I don’t know about you, but that really comforts me.  God has promised to heal your broken heart and to bind up your wounds. These verses have really impacted me over my journey of healing and I pray that they will impact you also.

Ask God to Bandage and Sew up Your Wounds

He will bandage your wounds
He will bandage your wounds

The words “bind up” in both verses come from the Hebrew word “chabash” which means “to tie, bind, to restrain, to bandage”.  I believe God reached down into my innermost being and touched my wounds. It felt like He had bandaged them and had began to heal me from the inside out.  To think of God bandaging up my wounds is a comforting thought.  He can and will do the same for you, God loves you so much and He will take the time to personally reach down and bind up or bandage all your emotional wounds.

“Heal” in Psalms 147:3 is the Hebrew word “raphe” meaning, “to heal, to sew together or mend.” Have you ever had to have stitches? Why does the surgeon need to stitch our wounds?   It is to hold them together so they have time to heal.

We can’t physically see the healing God does inside of our bodies, but He is at work and is sewing you together again “stitch by stitch” so that over time you receive complete healing.

“He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147 3)

“He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted.” (Isaiah 61 1)

What Does it Mean to be Broken?

When I looked up the dictionary, the meaning I got for “broken” was this: reduced to fragments; fragmented; ruptured; torn; fractured; not functioning properly; out of working order. Is this how you feel?  Do you feel like your heart has been reduced to fragments? Ruptured, torn, fractured? IT REALLY HURTS!  It’s like your heart has been shattered into many pieces.  You may feel crippled emotionally and exhausted physically. Ask God to help you, to strengthen you and to heal you. Hand it all over to Him, trust in Him and allow Him into those broken places.

Imagine Him putting back the pieces!
Imagine Him putting back the pieces!

Allow the Great Physician to do Heart Surgery

God, who is the greatest Physician ever, will come in and perform heart surgery on you. Can you picture Him lovingly fitting all those little pieces back together again? God will mend your broken heart!

Healing is a process though, so try to be patient, it may take time, but God’s timing is always perfect.  He will heal you and strengthen you and perfect you.

Just open up your heart to Him and allow Him to do surgery on you.  You won’t regret it, I know because He fixed me!

                                                                                                                              Beauty for Ashes

Get the Facts

Gen3X – Getting You Started

Christians are some of the most misinformed, under-educated people in the world concerning the word of God. They can tell you all about the stock exchange, the ins and outs of technology, recite all the resources that they have read, but when it comes to what the Bible has to say concerning pornography, masturbation, immorality, they are completely clueless. Most Christians are too respectable and too well informed to become alcoholics or drug addicts so they opt for the one with no visual side effects.

Pornography / spiritual adultery will do more harm to your spirit and relationship with God than any other substance available to mankind. It is an evil straight from the pit of hell and it must be confronted. GTF (Get the Facts) is here to help inform you (the believer) about where you stand in this battle and the reality of who you are worshiping. It’s time to remove the blinkers from your eyes and face up to what is driving you away from God.

The following pages will show how you have been deceived by Satan through PMI and how far you have strayed from God’s best. GTF will inform you as Christians on how you were worshiping at the altar of Satan and not God – make no mistake about that. This message will really start to hit home when you find yourself grieving for the hurt you caused to God and others rather than focusing on yourself.
