The Kids Are Alright, Not

There may have once been a time when “The kids were Alright” but how things have changed since “The WHO” posed for this famous album cover. With the arrival of the internet, the dog fight to keep our kids safe on-line has never been more fierce. So many parents are worried sick about the aggressive assault of pornography and is it any wonder, considering that this is the first generation to have total unlimited access to Hard core Pornography.

You have to be 18 years or older to get into a strip club, but an 8 year old can log on to some of the worst, obscene and perverted hard core pornography for free. All delivered and packaged to the way they want it – without  leaving the comfort of their own bedrooms.

In an article from the Mail On line, David Cameron, the British Prime Minister, has reminded the main UK internet service providers BT, Sky, Talk Talk and Virgin Media that they have a moral duty to act responsible and install blockers that will stop kids accessing pornography, which is fair enough. However, the main assault begins at home, it’s not the responsibility of Sunday school or the youth club leaders, Covenant Eyes or Net Nanny. Proverbs instructs us as parents to TRAIN UP our children and not to pass the buck or take the easy way out by brushing it under the carpet and hoping that it will mysteriously go away.  So how do you begin the Porn Talk with your kids? Fruits of the Spirit – Joy!

Do you remember that little Sunday School Chorus?joyful child

I’ve got that joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart

Where?

down in my heart

Where?

down in my heart!

I’ve got that joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart, down in my heart to stay!

It’s so easy to sing that as a child, with none of the cares of the world on our shoulders, but as we get older, it is not so easy to sing those words through heart breaks and trials and really mean them.  Wouldn’t it be amazing to be full of joy in a world which is fearful, full of worry and discouragement.

In John 15v11, Jesus said to His disciples, “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full”

Being joyful, is not the same as being happy, because happiness is an emotion and God does not want us to live by our emotions all the time.  True joy comes from being in an intimate relationship with your Abba Father. He is the channel through which all the fruits are given, and when we abide in Him, we will produce pure joy.  Jesus says in John 15:5 –  “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit”  – this includes “full joy”, it is the second on the list of the fruits of the spirit.

In the Bible, (KJV) “joy” appears 158 times. God loves a joyful heart. So many of us have looked on God as being very serious, judgemental, solemn and even angry. Many religious people are like this and go around with serious faces all the time.  However, supreme joy is God’s nature and character!  It is everywhere we turn around, birds singing in the trees, new born lambs leaping in the fields, beautiful flowers blossoming, streams trickling and even the rays of sunshine, or the colourful rainbow when it rains!  God “gives us richly all things to enjoy” 1 Timothy 6:17

JoyThe word “rejoice” also appears 198 times in the KJV of the Bible, which means to feel or have joy. Philippians 4:4 says “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!”  

Because we have Jesus as our rock, joy will continue to flow through us even during suffering, because we know this is limited to our short lives and soon “there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying” Revelation 21:4.  

So, “Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven” Matthew 5:11-12

As Christians, we have much to be joyful for, we are sons and daughters of the King of Kings, we are going to live with Him for eternity.  So I urge you, when you are feeling low or like no-one cares, as a little child, go to your Daddy who waits for you with arms wide open, then  “Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full!”  John 16:24

I pray that your “joy may be full” in every circumstance.

Have you thrown it all away?

How far are you prepared to go to lose your inheritance?  Pornography, lust, adultery has probably been responsible for bringing down more church leaders, godly men and women, caused more division among congregations and ruined more ministries than anything else we could think off.

How many men have been called to extraordinary ministries but lost their anointing, quenched the spirit and forfeited their inheritance in heaven for another lust filled hour of pornography, adultery or something more sinister. Could this be describing you? You know that God is calling you into a deeper relationship with Him but you can’t seem to break this one little thing that is enabling you from going forwards.

Some Christians assume that every believer who goes to heaven will enjoy the same joy and happiness, but that is not true. The bible makes it clear that not all Christians will enjoy the same position and have the same honour, responsibilty and blessing. The believer In Christ cannot be denied salvation, this part is given equally to every one, but beyond salvation believers can be denied an inheritance and rewards. Christians must give an account for their sins!

2 COR 5 9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

You will still have to come face to face with your past. Your sins are forgiven through what Jesus did on the cross, but you must give account to God for what you got up to. So why are you happy to pile on more sarrow as you continue to indulge in pornography?

Help me beat Pornography

 

Is the cry that I hear many Christian men fighting pornography come out with. But a basic understanding of what Jesus accomplished over Satan is your guarantee that the “real fight” has already been won. Meditate, soak in, ponder over and let the Holy Spirit reveal to you the victory found in Colossians 2:15.  And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. If you don’t start with this scripture as your foundation of what Jesus did when He rose from the grave then everything that you base your knowledge on could be distorted.

Guys let’s be clear about this passage, when Jesus descended He not only plundered hell, He ransacked the place with terror and fear. Stamping HIS Authority and Victory in the face of Satan and every stinking demon in the pit. But wait, he didn’t stop there He made a public “shew” of them. When a king was victorious in battle he would have had a grand victory parade showing of to his people the spoils of war and usually the defeated foe would have been made a spectacle of and humiliated. His victory was the angels cue to throw the biggest party heaven had ever seen. Christ had risen, He has won back what Adam had lost and now we have a future to look forward to. Satan’s still mad he hasn’t forgotten his kicking and is working extra hard to get revenge by taking out as many believers as he can. So the next time he comes to attack you with pornography remind him of his defeat along with his future.

Who are you letting get in the way

of you enjoying your so called pornography” addiction“. Family, hobbies, work, church, social life have all suffered because of your love affair, but none more than your wife. Pornography should never, can never, will never replace your wife no matter how good or bad you may think of her.

 

Pro 18: 22  He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favour from the Lord.

Pro 31:10  A wife of noble character who can find?  She is worth far more than rubies   

Pro 19:14 Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.

Eph 5:33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself,

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

1 Peter 3:7   Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

And for your wife, 

                                         Ps 56:8 He has kept track of every toss and turn through sleepless nights. Every tear entered in His ledger, each heart ache written in His book.   

                                                      Your pain hasn’t gone unoticed
