Battle for the Mind prayer

 

Father, I no longer come to You through a veil of darkness but through Your son Jesus Christ. I ask You to put a new song into my heart so that I can praise You throughout this battle. You have supplied everything that I need to stand firm against Satan my enemy. You have prepared and made ready for me spiritual armour that will resist and defeat every attack I come up against, so teach me how to use it. I confess that a rebellious heart, a debased mind, and meditating on the wrong things has led me straight into the pit that I now find myself in. I no longer base my abilities on how I feel but on what Your word says, so use me that I may be a terror to the enemy.  Holy Spirit, heaven is my final destination, so convict me every time my eyes and my mind start to wander, Lord I fully surrender everything to You through this battle so that You may have the glory.  Amen

The Quitters Check List prayer

 

Father, I know what I should do to help myself, but my love for pornography has ensnared me. Do a new work in me daily so that I will commit to this list. Help me to be ruthless in my pursuit so that I may cut off every hindrance that is stopping me from being an over-comer and a conqueror.  Lord I have no more excuses to give You. I have nothing else to hide behind. Let every area of my life be closely examined by the Holy Spirit. Lord may my spirit and conscience be unsettled if I fail You in this list. Bringing You the glory Lord means more to me now than anything else. I no-longer wish to give Satan the bragging rights over my life but I choose now to joyfully hand back to You, Your rightful claim over my life. Father, I thank-you for being relentless in Your pursuit of me,  Amen.

Repentance prayer

   David’s Prayer of Repentance

Psalm 51 is probably the most popular prayer of repentance in the Bible.  This Psalm was written after David committed adultery with Bathsheba. You may or may not have committed physical adultery, but if you have been watching pornography, you have most certainly committed spiritual adultery Matthew 5:28. Use this Psalm as a model or make up your own personal heart felt prayer of repentance towards a gracious and forgiving God.

 

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. 

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 

Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.

Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar

Be the man prayer

 

Lord, I thank you that there is more grace in Your heart than there is sin in my past. Although I have made my share of bad decisions, I know that you can forgive my past and cover my mistakes so that it will no longer separate me from your fellowship and holiness.

I take full responsibility for my actions, the hurt and pain and grief that I have caused to everybody through my involvement in pornography/ adultery/ immorality and I ask for your forgiveness from all of this. Lord release your peace and comfort to those who are still hurting and teach me how to be a new man even if it means breaking me, I hand to you Lord my permission to do whatever it takes to be the man my family needs me to be, the man who You died for me to be. Father I bring nothing to You but my great need for change. I acknowledge that You only have my best interests at heart and I fully trust You in the process that I must go through. Thank you Lord for blessing my marriage, my wife and my children. I count on Your grace and favour in this matter in Jesus’ name  Amen

Generation XXX prayer

Lord Jesus, You know and fully understand the society and ungodly environment that I am forced to live in and the constant daily struggles that I face and through this all I try to remain pure. Your word tells me to be holy because You are holy, but I fall short of this every day in my life.

Lord, I also find it hard to be the Salt and Light that I’m called to be because of many temptations, Holy Spirit awaken my spirit to take every thought captive unto Christ and to flee from every ungodly situation that I find myself in, for it’s only by your power that I’m able to cooperate fully with You. Thank you Lord for calling me to be your witness to a lost generation, let them see You shining through my decisions and attitudes as I seek to glorify You with my sexuality and my body. Thank you Lord, Amen
