Where are you getting your knowledge from?

Who gets your worship? 

When you look at the act of sex, what does that little three lettered word mean to you? Do you take it for granted as another leisurely past time or do you use it to glorify God? 1 Cor 6: 19-20. Have you taken the time to fully understand just how powerful this is and what impact it has on your relationship, the world and to the Body of Christ?  So where do you draw your knowledge and guidance from? Is it found in God’s word, after all He created sex to be enjoyed through marriage Or do you opt out for the anything goes, ready available, endless supply of lies and filth that the world has to offer through pornography.

– Pleasing God or myself? –

If you have already read Satan’s Bait you will have found a list of what the world has to offer and in reality there are more perversions than we could have ever thought of. As a “born-again Christian” you maybe indulging in some or all of these acts, so you really have to ask, “Will I be spiritually healthier from it all?” Romans 8 8-13.  Will I be physically healthier if I continue to play around 1 Cor 6 18 and will I be emotionally healthier if I keep being ignorant? Heb 13 v 4.  Or through these acts, what is it that I’m offering up to God by pleasing myself?

Do you fully understand the seriousness of sex? We are well informed about the physical consequences of our actions i.e. HIV/STD, unwanted pregnancies, but on the spiritual side who gets the worship from it all? To be honest, like most Christians, I knew what the Bible had to say but I never took the time to meditate or digest the truth on this matter. Like you I was happy to leave it to the man in charge of the weekly sermon to inform me of my rights, simply because I was too lazy to check it out for myself.

Problem is, the church in general is also lazy and probably still ignorant on addressing this subject. I was happy drinking out of broken cisterns because I chose the easy way out and listened to what the world was offering. Looking back, I willingly allowed myself to be fed the lies that the world had to offer. Now I could be blaming so many for my failure, but my failure was not reading the Bible or understand God’s heart on this serious matter, I was feeding the flesh and searing the Spirit by whatever means available because I chose to blind myself to the truth. Things weren’t going to change until the Holy Spirit intervened and revealed to me that all sex was spiritual and all sex was worship AND IT CHANGED EVERYTHING. Through the Holy Spirit I learned as a Christian how I was worshipping, not God, but Baal-Peor with my spirit, soul and body – my will, my mind and my emotions – everything I did and got involved in, I wilfully placed on the altar of sexual idolatry.

How many other Christian men/women need a revelation from the Holy Spirit to remind them of who they are actually worshipping?  Can you see yourself in the passage below?

Jeremiah 2:24-25

“How dare you tell me, ‘I’m not stained by sin
I’ve never chased after the Baal sex gods’!
Well, look at the tracks you’ve left behind in the valley.
How do you account for what is written in the desert dust—
Tracks of a camel in heat, running this way and that
tracks of a wild donkey in rut,
sniffing the wind for the slightest scent of sex.
Who could possibly corral her!
On the hunt for sex, sex, and more sex—
insatiable, indiscriminate, and promiscuous

 “Slow down. Take a deep breath. What’s the hurry?
Why wear yourself out? Just what are you after anyway?
But you say, ‘I can’t help it.
I’m addicted to alien gods. I can’t quit.

-Balaam’s stumbling block –

If we look at sex being used as a stumbling block to cause people to sin, we need to start at Numbers 25 and Balaam the soothsayer. King Balak was sick with fear for he had personally witness the destruction of seven tribes, the Canaanites, the Hitties, the Hivite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite the Amorites the Jebusites and 31 fortified cities along with Kings Sihon and Og.

Balak wanted to destroy Gods people by any means possible. King Balak commissioned Balaam the soothsayer an eminent practitioner of magic and divination believing that he could change the fate of nations. So, as the Israelites crossed the river Jordan to enter the plains of Moab, Balak had Balaam ascend Mt Peor to offer sacrifices to curse the invading nation. However, after several failed attempts Balaam could only obey God and bless them instead of curses. Although Balaam couldn’t curse the Israelites and Balak couldn’t defeat them in battle, sly Balaam gives advice to the King on how he might gain the upper hand over Israel.

Numbers 25 1-5 gives us the answers that we need:  While Israel was camped at Shittim (Acacia Grove), the men began to have sex with the Moabite women. It started when the women invited the men to their sex-and-religion worship. They ate together and then worshipped their gods. Israel ended up joining in the worship of the Baal of Peor. God was furious, his anger blazing out against Israel. 4 God said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of Israel and kill them by hanging, leaving them publicly exposed in order to turn God’s anger away from Israel.”5 Moses issued orders to the judges of Israel: “Each of you must execute the men under your jurisdiction who joined in the worship of Baal Peor.”   And 23.000 fell that day.

How would today’s headlines read if that were ever to happen?  It would be frightening to think of how many Church leaders, Christian men and women would be slaughtered today if there was no abounding grace to cover their promiscuity.

Balak knew that it would be pointless facing the Israelites in battle, he simply couldn’t beat them, and so instead of a battle he seduced them into submission through sex worship. Satan has tried for centuries to defeat the body of Christ through persecution, genocide, torture, murder etc. But with every attack that it has endured, the church has managed to grow back stronger and spread further than before, Satan is no longer using Generals and their armies to do his killing. Today Satan has raised up a new army not as intimidating a more acceptable and friendly army but every as bit lethal and deadly towards believers. He is using producers, directors and so called actors from the adult entertainment industry to continue his unholy crusade, Satan’s scared, his time is limited he doesn’t have any new or winning strategies, he is simply using sex worship again to steal the fight away from the advancing body of Christ. To Satan passive Christians are better than dead Christians because they spread despair and hopelessness around wherever they go no joy no zeal no fight, and this is what pornography is doing.

These two overlooked verses are worth taking a look at:Numbers 31:16: Behold, on Balaam’s advice, caused the people of Israel to act treacherously against the Lord in the incident of Peor.   Rev 14 But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality

So what was this incident at Peor and what was the stumbling block placed before them.

– The roots of it all –

While all sexual immorality gives homage to the god Baal, worship to Baal-Peor was considered to be vile and obscene. This was the heaviest end and the most degrading animalistic form of idol worship. This was purely Satanic worship, anything goes – worship, worshippers trying to out do each other in how perverse they could worship Baal-Peor/Satan.

In the bible the name Baal (master or lord) is commonly used as a reference to Satan and the counterpart to Baal was the goddess Asherah, the fertility goddess (she had different names in various nations such as Venus, Aphrodite or Ishtar but her role was still the same).  A pillar or image of wood was set up alongside the altar to Baal, and was worshipped with libidinous and lascivious sexual practices. Originally the idol was worshiped as a symbol of the tree of life, but later it was perverted to mean the origin of life and was formed phallic in shape with the male organs of procreation. Ezekiel 16:17

Now Peor was an obscure local mountain peak in Moab, a place of gross idolatry were Balak brought Balaam to curse Israel and it means a gap, cleft, wide opening, i.e. woman’s vagina or other cavities in the body, so Baal Peor “Lord of the opening” is not just about one specific opening but all the openings of the body that could be penetrated or corrupted for worship through sexual purposes. Because the Canaanites worshipped sexual perversion so much they through great festivals to get everyone involved. Normally worshippers would prepare themselves before by eating lentils/ drinking beer and in turn would approach the altar of Baal to offer their sacrifice, (usually a child) squat down expose their back sides and defecate on the altar  and then of into the groves for wild sex. While all sexual immorality gives homage to the god Baal, worshippers in the cult of Baal-Peor forfeited all human moral standards. In fact the more disrespectful animalistic the act the greater the form of worship. Baal-Peor worship was considered to be vile and obscene this was the heaviest end most degrading demonic form of idol worship available this was basically anything goes with no limits or restrictions.

– Then and now –

Baal is the strong man behind sexual perversion, his influence is still being mirrored throughout our society today – drunken orgies/ group sex/swinging, visiting temple prostitutes/ brothels, child sacrifices/ abortion, deviant sexual practices/ fetishes/perversions,mutilation/ self-harming, witchcraft/ drug abuse, asherah poles/ pole dancing, voyeurism/ cybersex/ dogging/dvd’s  , defecating/ scat porn, sexual humiliation/ gonzo porn, etc. So not much has really changed since then, just improved technology. So basically, those men and women and even children who got involved in Baal-Peor worship had to debase themselves both physically and spiritually before the altar.  Child sacrifice was a fundamental aspect of Baal worship. Baal was also similar to the pagan god Molech. Baal always goes after the next generation, trying to cut off the extension of God’s covenantal blessing and with so much sex going on then as there is now, there was an endless supply of babies ready to be offered up as sacrifice.

It doesn’t take much imagination to link Baal Peor worship with today’s ungodly oversexed society. Baal Peor worship teaches people to lose their inhibitions and self-control, those hooked on Baal worship could either participate or simply stand by and watch as they were enslaved to that ruling spirit.

Back then the focal point of worship was the altar or the Asherah pole, today that Altar is now our mobile phones, i pads, tablets or computers. 10 years ago it was the DVD, 20 yrs ago VCR, 30 yrs ago it was the girly mag before that it was the cinema, before that it was the mutoscope, before that it was the Gutenburg printing press, before that it was etched, carved or engraved into wood, stone or metal images, before that it was drawn or painted in caves. It doesn’t matter what we lust our eyes onto or prostrate ourselves in front of, it’s what we are prostrating ourselves to and the image we are worshipping. From simple nude figures painted by cave men to Gutenberg’s printing press to the Google search engine Satan has used every medium to his advantage.

–Where’s your Altar–

The altar is a way of getting you distracted, it can be whatever takes our focus off God. So what are the current day altars of Baal?  Music channels, bars, discos, night clubs, lap dancing clubs, brothels, abortion clinics, strip clubs etc. When a stripper uses a pole she is re-enacting the sexual rites of Baal-Peor worship to entice men into ungodly sex. The stripper represents a temple prostitute. How many so called pop idols in occultic pop porn music videos act out this message through their performance and how many young girls are out there re-acting their favourite stars, emulating through dance the worship of Baal Peor as they act out the rites of oral sex, anal sex, lesbianism, group sex etc. Do not be deceived this is not about empowering women’s sexuality it is the recruitment and dedication of young girls to be temple whores as they seek to make men bow down, lust after and worship at the altar of Baal-Peor.

– No hiding place – 

If you as a Christian clicks’, onto a porn-site, chat room, watch blue movies, fantasise, lust, masturbates or whatever, you are no different from an Israelite walking into his sex worship with a Moabite woman. You have just entered into a spiritual realm that is forbidden to you, out of bounds, A NO GO AREA. You have made a free will choice to disobey God and now Jesus can’t go in there to rescue you and you’re vulnerable for attack. You have taken off your spiritual armour that we read about in Eph 6, stepped out from under the source of your spiritual covering and now the demonic have been handed the legal rights to attack you. You have just wilfully walked into Satan’s back yard to play and have some fun, scripture doesn’t say that Satan is going to devour every Christian, only those who stray into his territory 1 Peter 5: 8

All men who view pornography are passively worshipping Satan, and they have absolutely no idea to what they are opening themselves up to, it goes beyond merely giving in to carnal desires, fulfilling lust or watching two broken people having sex for money. In effect they have tapped into the same spiritual power as those who practice Satanism, witchcraft, occult, drug taking, astrology, Ouija board, rebellion, black magic, clairvoyance, etc.  Pornography is in fact Baal-Peor/Satan worship. Actually pornography is more dangerous because those who watch it aren’t even aware of the demonic influence surrounding porn and the power they have tapped into. If you are actively involved in pornography each time you participate; now it doesn’t matter if you view it once an hour, once a day, once a week , once a month, once a fortnight, once a month, once every six months or once a year each time you are taking communion with the demonic.

I bet you don’t go to Satan’s altar moaning about being dragged out of bed or end up slating his sermons, no you go already turned on, excited and aroused, overcome by the sheer thrill, and still you expect God to honour you for being disobedient, MEN WISE UP this can’t keep happening. Satan knows how to use pornography and how sex appeals to the most basic desires of men.  Every website you surf, each dvd you watch, every magazine you flick through each time you masturbate and fantasize opens another door into deeper bondage. Satan hasn’t changed, he still wants to be worshipped, and all he has done is added a bit of technology, repackaged and rebranded his stumbling block to suit today’s society.

So, how many hours have you prostrated yourself in front of his altar? How many times did you sacrifice time with God, your wife and kids to worship at his altar? How low and how perverse did you sink to fulfil the desires of your flesh? If you are truly repentant God will forgive you from all of this, it’s still His character and nature to see you set free, forgiven and restored. Is it right or wrong to indulge in masturbation?

Guys are we being set up here to fail?  We all know about the age old debate on masturbation.  Is it right or wrong to indulge? The bible isn’t doing us any favours by not printing the rules in easy to follow steps i.e. Leviticus 18 Unlawful sexual relations, Deut 28 Blessing and Curses. So why doesn’t scripture come straight out and say “yes it’s fine, it’s your body do with it as you like”? God has given us these hormones and urges that almost send us crazy unless relieved, so masturbation must be the answer.  Right?  Well not so quick!

 

– What is Gods best for you? –

We know that God’s best for us is to enter into a marriage and satisfy each other through sexual relations, but each time the church refuses to address this subject, it strengthens society’s hold and opinion over millions of lives.

So what is masturbation? Is it a form of worship to show gratitude and pay homage to the deity behind the porno film that you watch? Or a form of self-comfort, you do it when you feel bad about yourself and want a lift, a boost or a quick fix to the problems that you are facing in life.

There’s a difference between teenagers whose hormones are on fire, experiencing and finding out what their bodies can do coming through puberty. However, for the men who are still single or the married person who is still involved in masturbation you will need to seek the Holy Spirit and ask the hard questions to find out why you are still behaving this way. You can’t cast out your hormones, but understanding the root behind pornography you can quit that which seeks to enslave you.

Masturbation has almost become a recreational past time for our youth, it’s just another habit like brushing their teeth. While the act of masturbation may seem harmless and pleasurable, it still has a negative effect on our spirit, soul and body. The act itself is not demonic but it allows the enemy to gain a stronghold by using past hurts, lust, fantasies, temptations, pornography, perversions that keep it fuelled.

– Tithes and Offerings – 

Pornography is more than a simple film it’s a pre-recorded religious service, a sacred ritual of sex worship that is being offered up to Baal-Peor/Satan, and you the viewer are endorsing it. You are not innocent by any means. If Christ were to return today how would you justify yourself being found behind enemy lines? Never mind being found in the wrong denomination you’re worshipping with the wrong congregation. The tithe that you leave behind, your freewill offering, is your precious seed that you spill onto the floor or into a tissue as you show your appreciation and pay homage to your lord Baal-Peor for what he has supplied.

Emotionally and physically, masturbation provides the pay-off for pornography, but what if you have successfully given up pornography and still masturbate? What’s the cause? Well you were once a trophy that Satan proudly showed off to God and he still wants your worship. Satan doesn’t mind you going to church every night in the week and doing what you do, and serving where you serve.  Just as long as you continue to pay your daily or weekly tithe to him and to help you along the way he will continually bombard your mind with ungodly images to make the act easier.

We know from Job 1 that God has put a hedge of protection around every spirit filled believer. The enemy is aware of that hedge and he can’t get at you because of it. He can’t penetrate that hedge – it’s impossible. So he tries to lure you out by placing a Trojan horse in front of the hedge, waiting and hoping that you will drag it in behind.

– So what is a Trojan horse?-

Well it could be anything from a girlie mag, a 2 min clip in a film, a TV show, lingering over a dirty thought and once it gains entry an elite troop of demons spill out and cause havoc with your thought life flooding your mind with feelings of ecstasy.  Very soon this becomes a habit and your body starts to depend on it for a quick fix. You respond by sticking your arm out to grab it and as you do (Ecc 10 8) the serpent sticks his fangs into your arteries and the poison takes root. But that’s not all, every time you break through the hedge, grabbing after your lustful desires, you wear a hole and now Satan’s arrows have entrance points into the dark recesses of your mind, working you, coaxing you, seducing you, to masturbate over that image which is leading you ever deeper away from the truth of God.

When Satan can’t penetrate that hedge, he goes after your will, your mind and emotions.  When you lie in bed feeling disappointed because you’ve been let down or betrayed, cheated on, back stabbed, depressed, frustrated, something goes badly wrong, your lies have been exposed, feeling defeated and deflated the flesh crying at you “I don’t deserve this! Life isn’t meant to be like this! I don’t want to be treated this way! I need a quick fix to feel good again” – your flesh doesn’t care how low you sink or how perverse you indulge.  It cries, “I like that feeling, I enjoy that experience, get me that same high again at any cost”. So you access from memory to see where the last pleasure hit came from and you end up sticking out your arm through the hedge again to grab hold of something/anything that will give you a quick release.

Now, on top of all this happening emotionally, the enemy decides to join in spiritually and unleashes a volley of arrows through the holes in your hedge, directed towards your mind and thought life with sordid fantasies, lust, ungodly scenarios, explicit images, and soon the body becomes a total wreck, masturbating more frequently and your thoughts going even deeper into perversion and bondage just to maintain the same high. Remember behind every pornographic image are spirits who are specialists in polluting men’s minds and imaginations.

Amongst all this chaos is the soft voice of the Holy Spirit providing a way out for you, plucking your conscience and bringing scripture to mind, stand firm or flee from your torment. Unfortunately by this stage you can become so desensitized that you miss the prompting and another opportunity is blown to get Jesus involved. By this stage masturbating once a day is no-longer sufficient. Satan is laying it onto you hot and heavy images and thoughts that used to turn your stomach now appeal to you in a way like never before. Your drowning in your own fifth and don’t know how to save yourself.

God’s word is all about disciplining the flesh, not giving in to earthly temptations that seek to enslave us. While masturbation isn’t a salvation issue, it will keep you from experiencing freedom from mind controlling fantasies, freedom from demonic control, freedom from lust, freedom from sinful behaviours and freedom from pornography/sex-worship.

– Spiritual Adultery –

In Matt 6:27 Jesus said “that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has committed adultery with her in his heart” So what is Jesus saying? If we consider how good it would be to be in bed with that person and start allowing our minds to unpack that visually, Jesus is saying that this person has already committed spiritual adultery in their heart, i.e. their mind, will and emotions, their bodies aren’t involved in this case but they are allowing themselves to enter into the temptation mentally which is still very dangerous. So if a person continues to indulge in visualisation of sex to somebody that they’re not married too, the next step is that they’re very likely to act out and masturbate. So they can have masturbatory – mental, emotional relationships, usually with people they know through a picture or an image.  This is very defiling to the mind and affects the spirit because all sex is spiritual, so with masturbatory relationships, Jesus is saying that you are still committing adultery.

1 Cor 6:9  Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators., nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

1 Thess 4:2-5   For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

God would rather have you messy than not have you at all, but through the process you must learn to surrender and give over to the Lord what’s driving you to masturbate. Your struggle with masturbation will be the greatest lesson that you could learn in controlling your selfish desires. Eyes that are blind, Ears that are deaf

Are you reading the Warning Signs?

We are taught from a young age to discern the different types of warning signs that surround us in everyday life. Signs that stop us from getting hurt, injured or even killed, so why then are e=we slow to act on the warning signs that the word of God has to say about sexual immorality? Our churches may be silent or slow to address the problem of sexual immorality, but the Bible isn’t silent or behind the door, it’s quick to point out just where the person who indulges in sexual sin will end up.

– a lost inheritance –

The power that is behind sexual sin is so deceiving and so cunning that it can completely convince Christian men and women that it’s okay to look at pornography, indulge in sexual immorality and still go to heaven. If you are a spirit filled believer, what lengths have you gone to in order to drown out the voice or the prompting of the Holy Spirit? Have you swapped the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature? Romans 1:25. Or, are you so deceived and blinded (Psalm 119) that you can’t think straight for yourself to discern the Holy Spirit’s prompting? What price are you prepared to pay to have your cake and eat it? Most Christian men who view pornography can’t be too worried about the coming judgement or perhaps maybe they believe that they can’t be judged because of the Blood of Jesus. Click here to find out what the Bible has to say about your judgement. You push away every thought of coming disaster but your actions only bring the day of judgement closer.  Amos 6:3 

If I knew back then that I was worshipping at the altar of Baal-Peor, there is no way that I would have kept hidden for so long or went to the lengths that I did to justify or defend pornography. Men who use pornography can forfeit their place in heaven and lose the companionship of the Holy Spirit. After years of faithful service in church or ministry, what could be more sorrowful and heart wrenching than not hearing “well done my good and faithful servant, come and enter into my rest” Matt 24:21.  When the fact is, the only thing you were faithful to was worshipping Satan through pornography. If you have read “Who gets the Worship” you’ll know exactly who you are serving.

Do you understand the seriousness of scripture? And what the Bible has to say about fornication, adultery, Idolatry, homosexuality; all acts that God condemns. Our churches are good at getting the message to us, but getting the message through and into us is another thing. Click here to read more verses straight from the Word of God.

It isn’t a simple matter of once saved always saved! Those verses show that we can lose our inheritance if we continually indulge in what God forbids, we can’t simply do as we like and still go to heaven. Jesus made no mistakes in what He said. He didn’t ever play around with words or give false impressions, I don’t recall Jesus stumbling or mincing His words. He knows all about the power of scripture and the seriousness it carries. When Christ said that we cannot serve two masters He meant it.

Proverbs 14; 12 there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end leads to death

– Is this you? –

Are you one of the deceived that marches into Church every Sunday, the Bible tucked under your arm, singing songs of worship and hiding your reckless lifestyle behind a well-groomed appearance, having filled your mind with pornography from the week before and out worked the appetite of your demons on your wife and family? Well if you think that you’re going to get a wink and a nod of approval from Jesus about your activity think again.

What part of Matt 7: 23, Depart from ME, You who practice LAWLESSNESS don’t you understand?  Pornography, masturbation and immorality is total rebellion against God in the extreme. He won’t have it and won’t stand for it at all. He cares for you so much that He only has your best interest in mind.  Yes, we will all struggle with sin and his grace will cover our short comings, but if you remain comfortable in your sin without doing anything to help yourself, then you have to ask the hard question, “Am I really saved at all?”

If you are caught up in your bondage and are passive about your freedom, if the lure of the negative still outweighs the positive, scripture warns that you will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. The more a person gets involved in sin the less he sees it or recognises it for what it is.

Hold on to this thought: Having treated God’s word with contempt, called God a liar throughout life, taken God’s place, sided with Satan against God—what makes a man think that when he dies, God is going to receive him into heaven? Take a man who has lived a rebellious life in pornography, dishonouring to God but then expects God to honour him. Isn’t it incredible? Yet that’s what men believe. If you have any idea how God hates this sin, the fear of God would be enough to turn you away – but unfortunately, it isn’t enough to stop you from crawling back. Paul reminds us in 1 Cor 10:8 that 23,000 fell in a single day because of sexual immorality,  Leviticus20:10 commanded death for adultery, the seventh commandment warns against adultery and again Jesus covered it in the Sermon on the Mount Matt 5:27,28. The sad fact is that some men enjoy being deceived so that they can continue to indulge in their fleshly pleasures Rom 1:28; 2 Tim 3:1-7; Titus 3:3-7.

Either He will expose your dirty little secret and all will be revealed Luke 12: 2-3 or He will remove His covering from you and hand you over to Satan so that your spirit may be saved 1 Cor 5:5. Either way, God will not be mocked He will not allow you to claim the name of His son Jesus and allow you to keep on living as if nothing has changed. You already know that it’s not God’s will for you to perish, that He has put the warning signs in place because He loves you. So how much more scripture will it take? How many more verses do you need to inform you that you will not inherit the kingdom of heaven? Lord, there is an ungodly industry that is luring the saints astray through temptation and lies. Claiming that the only way to find fulfillment and satisfaction is through pornography and away from You. Lord I feel weak and too frightened to stand against this on my own but with the power of the Holy Spirit equipping me I know that all things are possible. David was a lowly shepherd boy yet was able to bring down Goliath as he blasphemed against You, so encourage me right now as I take my stand in this fight so that I too can share in Your glory as You bring down this giant,  I ask this in the name of Jesus amen.

How Big is Porn?

As a child sitting through my Sunday school classes, I was always thrilled to hear the story of King David killing Goliath. Sitting there, my imagination would run riot about how big and fierce this guy was and how he would mock God in front of His presence and get away with it. Well, we all know the story, God raised up David, the most unlikely hero and Goliath was slain by him.  That was that, job done, no more mocking my God – not until a new giant came upon the scene. Pornography, a giant, just like the last one, is mocking and taunting God and keeping His army in fear because they didn’t know how to handle it approach it and more importantly slay it.

Pornography is a multi-billion dollar bully/industry that thrives on working through loop-holes, with no clear definition or governing body to regulate it or more importantly enforce it. Pornography’s strength lies behind the separate and divide rule.  What is tolerated in some regions of the world, like bestiality and violent porn will not be tolerated in others, while the age of purchasing porn in some countries could be as low as 15, in others you could end up facing the death penalty. And the money that is up for grabs greedy politicians will never find enough morality to say no.

The size of the pornography industry is mind boggling.  It is an incredibility lucrative business in sexual exploitation that thrives on never satisfying the consumer.

  • Every 39 minutes a new pornographic movie is being created in the United States that adds up to 150 new releases every week. If you watched porn 24 hours a day, it would take several years just to get through the 13,558 hard-core titles released last year as opposed to Hollywood’s mere 400 movies.
  • 2 Million Pornographic websites.
  • 420 million Pornographic pages.
  • 68 million daily porn search engine requests.
  • 5 billion Daily porn emails sent.
  • 7% of internet users who view porn.
  • 5 billion Monthly porn downloads.
  • 72 million monthly visitors to porn websites.
  • Internet sales 4.9 billion dollars.
  • 100,000 websites offer illegal child porn – it has become one of the fastest growing businesses online.
  • 000 daily child pornography requests worth over 3 billion alone in 2005
  • Web pages US 244.661.900, UK is 3rd with 8.506.800.  33% of internet users in the UK search for porn

 

 – It’s all about the money –

  • China spends the most on porn, with a staggering $27.40 billion a year, followed by S. Korea with 25.73 Billion. Japan 19.98 next is US, Australia and then the UK 6th with 1.97 billion spent on the filth.
  • Globally the annual revenue of pornography exceeds 97 billion dollars, that’s bigger than the revenue of the top tech companies Micro Soft, Google, Amazon, eBay, Yahoo, Apple, Netflix, and Earth Link combined.
  • In the US there are more adult outlets for hard core porn than McDonalds restaurants almost on a 3:1 basis.
  • Pornographic products out sell nappies 2-1 and more money is spend in strip clubs than on Broadway shows, Regional Theatres and orchestral performances,
  • And also, more than Americans spend on Baseball, basket ball and football combined.

General Motors, the world’s largest company, was at one time earning more money through a company that it owned called TV Direct, selling porn via cable to homes across America, than it was at producing and selling cars.  In fact, they were selling more explicit films than hustler.

Hotel chains have also jumped on the band wagon.  Up to 50% of customers rent porn and nearly 70% of their overall profits from room services come from hiring porn movies. And not forgetting all those broadband providers who are also raking it in.

To be realistic, the pornography industry is probably set to grow even bigger and stronger, by intimidating those who oppose it and lining the pockets of those who smooth the way for it. The only organisation that can stand up to this threat is the body of Christ, it can’t be bought or bribed by it’s millions.  It can’t fall under it’s seducing hypnotic powers of lust and free sex.  The bigger this porn industry grows, the greater the glory will be given to Christ as He pulls it down.  Click here for  So how big is Porn? Prayer
