Why are we here

 

 

 

Why we are here is simple. If your past experiences have been anything like mine in the pursuit of freedom from pornography, you may have sometimes felt like giving up on church. You build yourself up, expecting the magic prayer formula at the end to live up to it’s reputation, only to find that you’re back to square one, feeling more defeated and deflated than everbefore. Somany good men and well-meaning preachers have bombarded you with scripture and theology, but because of your stubbornness the seed has fallen on hard soil.

The truth is, the only freedom is the relationship that you build up with Jesus.

The aim of Gen3x is to attend your men’s church group and present the facts of what we believe the bible teaches about pornography. Our blog arena inputs the truth little but often, and I pray as you read each blog your dead spirit gets awakened and a revelation of where you are headed and more importantly who you are worshipping is revealed.   If you are interested in gen3x attending your next meeting, please contact me at girvan@gen3x.org.

Prayer life or Hard life?

” No man is greater than his prayer life” that was the cry of a godly man named Leonard Ravenhill.  And he was correct, your prayer life is the true reflection of where you stand with God and where the source of your power comes from to fight the enemy.

There are billions of prayers being offered up before the throne every day, but the ones that move the heart of God into action are desperate prayers. God cannot turn His ear away from a soul that is utterly depended upon his refuge, God cannot not hand over a soul to the enemy when it takes sanctuary in His Almighty name.

Lord, I am haunted with such a temptation, dogged with such a lust, either thou must pardon it or I am damned; mortify it or I shall be a slave to it. Take me in the bosom of thy Love for Christ’s sake. Castle me in the arms of thy everlasting strength, it is in thy power to save me from, or give me up into the hands of my enemy. I have no confidence in myself or any other; into thy hands I commit my life and rely on thee.

One faithful prayer of repentance can act like the rudder on a mighty ship, changing the direction of its course for the better.This prayer was written by William Gurnall author of The Christian in Complete Armour. There is still the same strength and power in this prayer today as when it was first prayed in desperation back in 1644.

Christian Know YOUR ENEMY

 

Every Christian should know who his enemy is.

Satan, YOUR enemy, is no longer sending in Generals and their armies to murder you.

They don’t come wearing a balaclava, carrying a gun, sporting a swastika or a pointed hat, striking fear and terror into your life.

He has personally trained up an elite army of producers, directors and adult entertainers to wage his war against the saints.

They come looking good, hot and harmless, teasing you, seducing you, coaxing you to let your guard down by getting you excited and aroused.

Inviting you to go further than you ever thought possible. She doesn’t pose any immediate threat or lethal attack.

But death and destruction is lurking behind her smile and perfect body. Her only aim is to walk you personally into the pit of HELL.

In the OT she would have been likened unto a temple prostitute, or a daughter of Moab, who lured Israel into sex and religion worship by committing whoredom in front of God.

Christian know that your enemy’s time is running out. He doesn’t have any new or winning strategies. He is simply resorting back to what worked in the past.

Temptation

Oscar Wilde wrote  “The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it”. Let’s be thankful that he didn’t write the bible otherwise we’d all be up the creek without a paddle.

Thankfully 1 Cor 10:13 lets us know who is firmly in control, There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

God has given every believer several tools to overcome temptation. This promise provides a way of escape from temptation (1 Tim 6: 11; 2 Tim 2:22)

Your greatest tool against temptation is the Holy Bible (Ps 119:11) Other tools are prayer, fasting, the blood of the Lord Jesus, reckon yourself dead to sin and crucify the flesh.(Mark 9 29; Rom 6:11;Eph 6:10; Heb 9:14; James 4:7;Rev 21:11)

The Kids Are Alright, Not

There may have once been a time when “The kids were Alright” but how things have changed since “The WHO” posed for this famous album cover. With the arrival of the internet, the dog fight to keep our kids safe on-line has never been more fierce. So many parents are worried sick about the aggressive assault of pornography and is it any wonder, considering that this is the first generation to have total unlimited access to Hard core Pornography.

You have to be 18 years or older to get into a strip club, but an 8 year old can log on to some of the worst, obscene and perverted hard core pornography for free. All delivered and packaged to the way they want it – without  leaving the comfort of their own bedrooms.

In an article from the Mail On line, David Cameron, the British Prime Minister, has reminded the main UK internet service providers BT, Sky, Talk Talk and Virgin Media that they have a moral duty to act responsible and install blockers that will stop kids accessing pornography, which is fair enough. However, the main assault begins at home, it’s not the responsibility of Sunday school or the youth club leaders, Covenant Eyes or Net Nanny. Proverbs instructs us as parents to TRAIN UP our children and not to pass the buck or take the easy way out by brushing it under the carpet and hoping that it will mysteriously go away.  So how do you begin the Porn Talk with your kids?
