DAY 2 – God Will Give You All the Care, Comfort and Love You Will Ever Need

 

PSALM 91 – Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust”. Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.  You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because He loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.

Use Your Sword!

When I am feeling threatened or attacked by the devil, I use my Sword, which is the Word of God.

I quote verses from the Bible at my enemy, especially Psalm 91 and the result is I feel God’s protection and comfort almost instantly.

This is my favourite Psalm and I have memorised it so it becomes engrafted into my heart.

I have it stuck to my fridge and I put my name in there and pray it over my life.

I would strongly advise you to do the same, so:

read it, recite it, pray it and proclaim it.

 

 

God Is Good All the Time

The first verse is so powerful and if we are obedient and do what it says to do, we will find the rest we so need!

God is a good God, He is a God of love and He loves you so much, He wants the very best for you!  He will ALWAYS honour His promises, but there is something we must do to claim these wonderful promises and that is to “dwell”, or remain, stay, live in the secret place of God. “WHOEVER dwells in the shelter of the Most High WILL rest in the shadow of the Almighty”.  Every child of God looks towards His mercy seat, but we all do not live in the most holy place. We can all run to it at times of need or crisis, but when all’s okay, we wander off again. Please don’t just run to Him in times of need, stay in relationship with Him in every circumstance – good or bad.

When we are in continuous communion and stay close to God, we get to possess all those wonderful rare and special benefits that are missed by those who follow at a distance.  There is no shelter imaginable that compares to the protection of Jehovah’s own shadow.  There is no better refuge when going through a storm!

 

Snuggle up close to your Abba Father, He is the Source of the Shadow. He is standing there waiting for you, His little girl, longing to give you ALL the care, comfort and protection you need and crave.

 

He Will Protect You

Verses 11 and 12 tell us: “For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” 

Did you know that in the Spiritual realm God has angels waiting on standby for your protection? You just need to cry out to Him and ask Him to send His angels down to protect you. God will do what He has promised and set His angels in motion. I have prayed this prayer on a couple of occasions when I thought things were impossible, and God changed my situation around straight away.  Isn’t God’s provision wonderful?

 

He is the God of the “I WILL”

Thousands of years before you were even born, this prophetic Psalm was written, God-breathed, JUST FOR YOU. He has promised to respond to your pleas for help in every threatening circumstance. He has made preparations ahead of time for whatever your situation. “HE WILL call upon Me, and I WILL answer him; I WILL be with him in trouble, I WILL deliver him'” (Psalm 91 15).

I love how God uses these words “I WILL”  over and over again here. When you call on Him, HE WILL BE WITH YOU IN TROUBLE AND HE WILL DELIVER YOU!  This is a mighty promise, you need to claim it over your life, your marriage and all your circumstances.

What’s the trouble with Lust

Are you living under a curse of LUST?

Lust is stalking you everywhere you go, waiting for an opportunity to whisper it’s lies and destruction into your life. It’s ready to gloat and condemn you as you fall for them, lust opposes the truth of God and wants nothing more than to see you living a broken life.

 

– Are you fanning the flames of Lust? –

Lust, one of the seven deadly sins, small word but a big problem. This sin will destroy a person’s life and marriage, career and reputation like nothing else. All sexual sin begins with a little lust, and will open the door to all kinds of perverseness, wickedness and heartache. The one who surrenders to lust will never be fully satisfied until climax or self-satisfaction is achieved and still this is only temporary. Godly men, who would never physically hurt or harm their wives, will abuse and defile the marriage bed in order to relieve this evil desire through selfish sex. Lust doesn’t become a problem overnight, we choose what we plant – a lustful thought here, a lustful glance over there and before you know it you have fed it so much that it soon becomes a beast, controlling and guiding your decisions in life.  So many believers lust after the flesh every day and wonder why they aren’t reaping holiness.

Mortifying lust will be one of the biggest battles that we will face in our lifetime. Any man with a pulse in his body knows how hard it is to deal with lust, in fact any man who hasn’t struggled with lust needs to check his body for a pulse. The chances are that in the past you have tried to break free from lust and failed. Lust breeds and thrives on isolation like a leech, lust attaches itself to the soul and sucks it dry. Lust ruins your relationship with God and others.  It darkens the heart, robs us of our spiritual vitality and leaves a spiritual vacuum that the demonic are ready to fill. Lust isn’t interested in sex, doesn’t even want it, if it were you would be happy with what you have. Instead, lust is looking for the forbidden, driving you down the fast lane to destruction taking you further than you were ever prepared to go.

You can’t negotiate or reason with lust or hope to meet it half way. It’s an “all or nothing”, “take it or leave it” attitude. You can’t run away from lust either. It’s there following you, stalking you, watching you, testing you, probing you, ready to ensnare you wherever you turn; waiting for an opportunity to bring you down.

The trinity of lust is Me, Myself and I.  The mantra of lust is “I want it, I need it, I must have it NOW”.  Never satisfied, never content – like an itch without a scratch.

The power of lust is whispered through the lie and the promise; guaranteeing that satisfaction and fulfilment can be found in everything except God. Always urging you on, promising that this time will be better than the last, nobody will ever find out; basically promising us what God can’t. – Lust comes at a Price –

Lust has probably being responsible for bringing down more Church Leaders, missionaries, godly men and women and caused more division among congregations, ruined more ministries than anything else.  How many men and women were once called to extraordinary ministries and lost their anointing, quenched the spirit and forfeited their inheritance for another hour of lust filled pornography, adultery or something worse?  Lust is stealing the attention of men and women away from the plans that God has for them, you are probably reading this knowing that God is calling you into a greater experience with Him but you can’t seem to conqueror this one little thing in your life.

Guys, I’m not going to teach you all how to suck eggs, each one of you have experienced lust falling prey to its lies and felt the devastation that it leaves behind.

Gal 6 7 do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Lust will slowly open you up to spirits that want to complete the job but in the most horrific ways. Spirits of lust cannot be satisfied by sex or any other means!  They will drive a person to commit acts or do sexual acts they would never think possible in order to get relief. It is a supernatural evil a demonic sex drive that taunts day & night, and every waking moment relentlessly, causing severe pain if not relieved.  Demons of lust will tear the flesh of innocent infants, babies, children, youth, anyone or anything (even animals) to penetrate and reach a climax.

We have all sat and listened in shock and repulsion to the news headlines as they carry more and more sickening stories of sexual abuse or murder, thinking that it can’t be real, but it is and it was probably driven by lust.  Deception, apathy, silence and isolation are Satan’s greatest weapons in this battle. If we continue to play ostrich with this issue more men and more families will be taken out.

The lies that lust promotes

 

Lets take a look at the most popular lies that lust promotes and the truth that scripture reveals.

 

The lie: there’s no harm at having a look at other women.

The Truth:  But I say to you that everyone looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her. Matt 5 28

 

The lie: filling my life with lust will satisfy me.

The Truth: I say to myself, The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the        one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations 3:24-26

 

The lie: looking at pornography won’t affect me.

The Truth: do not lust in your heart after her beauty, or let her captivate you with her eyes, for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of   bread and the adulteress preys upon your very life. Proverbs 6:25

 

The lie: People get away with adultery.

The Truth: For the lips of an adulteress drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil; but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double edged sword. Her feet go down to death, her steps lead straight to the grave. Proverbs 5:3

 

The lie: lust is no big deal.

The Truth: For lust is a shameful sin, a crime that should be punished. It is a devastating fire that destroys to hell. It would wipe out everything that I own. Job 31 11-12

 

The Lie: a little sinful fantasizing can’t hurt me

The Truth:  Do not be deceived; God is not mocked for whatever one sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the spirit will from the spirit reap eternal life Gal 6:7-8

 

The lie: I won’t experience any consequences for indulging in my lust.

The Truth: So then each of us will give an account to God himself. Rm 14 12

 

The lie: I can’t control my sex drive.

The Truth:  It is Gods will that you should be sanctified that you should avoid sexual immorality, that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is honorable. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-6

 

The lie: it’s my body I can do what I want with it.

The Truth: Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, who you have received from God You are not your own you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body 1 Cor 6:18-20

 

The lie: well it’s not my fault it has come down my generational line my father and his before him all committed adultery I just can’t help it

The Truth:  but every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and desire  James 1 14

 

The lie: I can’t live without pornography

The Truth:  But put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires  Romans 13:14

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. John 6:63

 

The lie: Looking at pornography can’t hurt me.

The Truth:  Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his cloths not be burned? Pro 6  I will set before my eyes no vile thing. Psalm 101

 

The lie; lots of sex will bring me pleasure and satisfy me.

The Truth:  You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore Psalm 16:11

 

The lie: I like to love them and leave them, no rings no strings.

The Truth:  What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two saith he, shall be one flesh. 1 Cor 6:16

What’s the trouble with Lust, Prayer

   

Dear God, you know that I have a problem with lust and I confess this to you right now as sin, and ask that you would forgive me. I renounce and repent of all forms of sexual sin, sexual perversion, pornography, masturbation, lustful imaginations, and anything else that has broken your sexual laws; and I commit myself to walking in what’s right from this day. In the name of Jesus I bind up all evil spirits of sexual sin, lust and perversion that have been active in my life and I forbid you from entering again. Help me God to remain free from all lust and sexual sin, also purify my mind and spirit from all the sexual images and abuse that I have put it through. Heal me inside and out and make me sexually whole again. Lord strengthen me so that I can meditate on Your word instead of the things that bring me down. Thank you for forgiving me, healing me, and for helping me to change. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

The Fully Surrendered Christian – The First Steps

The Lordship of Jesus Christ

Helping Christian men and women who struggle with pornography and sexual immorality to live a life free under the Lordship of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

– The Holy Spirit Removes the Veil – 

Men, when we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour, it also involves recognition of His lordship, for the Saviour who saved us when we received Him by faith is the LORD Jesus Christ. We cannot and do not receive Him as Saviour only. We receive Him as Lord and Saviour. Some believers may surrender everything immediately, but for others it may take a few months, or even years.

For me, personally, I was happy to know Jesus as my Saviour but not as my Lord for several years, although I was familiar with the name Lord, knew the term and understood its meaning, I wasn’t in a big hurry to apply it to my life and my circumstances.

Putting it simply I was happy to be living saved, that was it, I’d done it, made the decision – heaven here I come, only when I’m ready of course.

It all became clear one Sunday morning. I was in church worshiping, pouring myself out and opening myself up to the Holy Spirit, praying THE dangerous prayer asking the Lord to “search me, use me, send me; break my heart Lord for what breaks yours” and right from that moment there in Church my whole world was torn apart. I had given the Lord the permission that He was looking for and my life was never going to be the same again.

Right away, the Holy Spirit removed the veil that had being deceiving me for years and revealed how my involvement in pornography was breaking the Lord’s heart. What? Here I was ready to make the ultimate sacrifice but so blinded that I couldn’t see the plank in my own eye!

 

– A Tough Call to Make –

Quickly, and very quickly, the Holy Spirit started to convict me big time.  Overnight I birthed a godly hate for what I was involved in, but still I was tied to my sin and found it hard to break free. So was I “a dog returning to it’s vomit” or a “washed sow going back to it’s mud’” 2 Peter 2:22

Shortly afterwards, I heard a teaching on the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and through that lesson I knew what was missing.  No longer was “living to be saved” enough, I had to give up my personal rights, hand over my ownership deeds and totally surrender to His obedience. It was a tough call to make, but I finally realised the price that I had been purchased with and laid it all down.

Phil 29:9-11 – Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Such an important question requires more than a surface answer. For Jesus to become Lord of a person’s life, this involves absolute and total surrender. I can think of no better example of total surrender than F. B. Meyer.

 

– F B Meyer –

He was a Baptist preacher and pastor of Christ Church in the heart of London in the nineteenth century. In the midst of a successful ministry, F. B. Meyer confessed that something was lacking in his life and ministry. Click here to understand and be challenged by how F B Meyer lived his life and witness.

1 Cor 6:17-20 – but he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body and your spirit which are God’s.

Others can mess around, you cannot – you were bought at a price, you belong to Jesus. You are His purchased possession. When a person surrenders to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, he or she acknowledges His ownership and gives up his or her personal rights.

Can you see that through this verse you are joined to Jesus? So that means that you cannot do what you feel like doing because you are accountable to Him. He purchased you with a price.  What was the cost of that purchase?

1 Peter 1:19 tells us exactly what the cost was: but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot

How does this sacrifice impact you and your view on Jesus being your Lord?

Of course the Lordship of Jesus Christ involves every aspect of our lives; but with this ministry we are dealing with our sexuality.

 

– Satan’s Bait –

Pornography has now become a Global Slave market for Satan, where the hearts and minds of people are chained to lust, perversion and immorality. This is HUGE.  It’s massive – every society and every age group right across the globe has been effected and infested by it’s toxic poison. Let the seriousness of this impact you right now as you consider how many lives could be changed and how many people could be set free if we surrendered our sexuality to the Lordship of Jesus . Pornography, adultery, fantasy, lust, rape, gang rape, fear of rape, fornication, bi-Sexuality, homosexuality, lesbianism, child-pornography, sex trafficking, molestation, call girls/escorts services, rent boys, pimps, prostitution, promiscuity, misogyny, masturbation, std, hiv, aids, swinging, dogging, group sex, perversions, paedophilia, incest, abortions, unwanted pregnancies, under age pregnancies, massage parlours, brothels, adult book stores, red-light districts, peep shows ,erotic dancers, strippers/ strip clubs, divorce, defilement, cyber-sex, Bestiality, voyeurism, bondage, S&M, transvestism, sexual abuse, sexual harassment-assault- torture-murder, sex tourism, exploitation also the 100’s of paraphilias associated and not forgetting the Billions of dollars that could be saved.  All the suffering hurt and pain associated with this could be completely and permanently wiped out if we decided to put Jesus on the Throne.

 

.– Are You Feeling Beaten and Bruised? –

The Satanic firestorm of pornography has consumed society and now it’s ready to consume the Church unless we do something about it. So how long are you going to allow yourself and your family to be slapped, beaten, kicked and punched around by pornography?  When is the penny finally going to drop that pornography’s only aim is to corrupt society and finally conquer the church?

The more you allow Satan to “lord” it over you, the more you will yield to his power. The more time we spend pursuing this reckless lifestyle the unhappy we will be.  Becoming dissatisfied and disgruntled at what God had created to be enjoyed by His children through marriage.

Men, if Jesus isn’t Lord over your sexuality, that means you have given notice to the enemy that it’s up for grabs and judging the list above you will probably be in bondage to at least one of those perversions.

If you are serious about this battle, you will need Jesus to be Lord over every area of your life.  Consider how Joshua conquered the Promised Land.  God give it to him as he was able to claim the land, and to be realistic you probably won’t be ready to fully surrender every aspect all at once.  I know I couldn’t, but God made a start.  When He got the go-ahead, He decided to start with the biggest idol in my life; pornography.  When that was finally conquered, the rest of those un-surrendered areas started to fall into place.

There can only be ONE Lord over your life, you cannot serve two masters Matt 6:24.  So if you want Jesus to be your Lord, you can start with this prayer:

The Lordship of Jesus Christ means He has absolute control over your life. So I am challenging you now to take a look at what the Bible has to say about the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Pray that God will give you an open mind to see the claim of Jesus on your life. This understanding will change your life dramatically; that’s if you have the” I’ll do whatever it takes” attitude towards freedom and to bring glory to God.
